Katherine Latella (Freedman) is an experienced teacher and writer. She offers tutoring for students from 3rd grade through college.
Katherine holds a master’s degree in English Education from Columbia University Teachers College. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in creative writing from Barnard College. She is certified to teach English Language Arts 7th - 12th grades in New York public schools.
Katherine has eight years of teaching experience, and previously taught middle school English at The Manitou School in the Hudson Valley, and Léman Manhattan Preparatory School in New York City. She currently works as the Children’s Programming Librarian at the Butterfield Library in Cold Spring, NY, where she plans literacy and writing programs for children. Throughout her career she has also enjoyed tutoring students privately.
Katherine is a published poet, and is currently writing a novel in verse about her grandmother’s experience living in Belgium during World War II.
