About Me

I am an aspiring picture book author with five polished manuscripts. My background as a poet informs my approach to writing for children—crafting language that is lyrical and emotionally resonant.

My poetry has received the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize (Barnard College) and has been featured by Barnard’s Pandemic Poets Society and A Gathering of the Tribes. I am a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and regularly participate in critique groups in the Eastern New York region.

A former middle school English teacher and children’s librarian, I spent five years freelancing for Scholastic’s classroom magazines, where I developed lesson plans and literacy materials for educators. I am now a stay-at-home parent to a one-year-old boy—my favorite audience and an enthusiastic bookworm. I live in Fishkill, New York, in the Hudson Valley.
