About Me
I am an aspiring picture book author with five polished manuscripts. My background as a poet informs my approach to writing for children—crafting language that is lyrical and emotionally resonant.
My poetry has received the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize (Barnard College) and has been featured by Barnard’s Pandemic Poets Society and A Gathering of the Tribes. I am a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and regularly participate in critique groups in the Eastern New York region.
A former middle school English teacher and children’s librarian, I currently freelance for Scholastic’s classroom magazines, developing lesson plans and literacy materials for educators. I live in the Hudson Valley with my husband and two-year-old son.
